Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis which mainly affects people in old age due to the roughening of cartilage. Then is rheumatoid arthritis that causes chronic inflammation in the joints.

Ayurveda is the world’s oldest healing or medicinal system which uses natural means for curing and healing diseases. It has a solution for all complex problems and diseases. It also helps in curing arthritis through various therapies. Ayurveda focuses on the health and wellness of a body by blending the body, mind, and spirit. According to ayurvedic beliefs, the main cause of pain is the imbalance of doshas in the body. It proposes the massage therapy called Abhyanga aided by the ayurvedic oils made of natural herbs to maintain the balance between the doshas of the human body. There are three types of Abhyanga for arthritis-

Abhyanga in Vattadosha arthritis: It is the massage done slowly and softly with hot oils and applying heat for 20 minutes.

Abhyanga in Pitta dosha arthritis: This massage is done at room temperature by applying light pressure and using coconut oil, olive oil, and oil made up of some other herbs.

Abhyanga in Kalphadosha arthritis: In it, massage is done with warm oil and applying heat for 20 minutes followed by a dry massage using powder made up of herbs. This massage is done by applying some amount of pressure.

These oils can lead to faster recovery from the joint, muscle, or bone pain. By applying ayurvedic massage oil for arthritis on your joints would give relief from stiffness, inflammation, and severe joint pains because massaging your joints, muscle, or bone with this oil would help in blood circulation in that area as well as reducing impure toxins from the tissues which help heal the problem. Ayurvedic oils are made up of natural herbs and other ingredients like mustard, almonds, ajwain, bhringraj, eucalyptus oil, neem, sesame, mint, cloves, ginger, lemon, olive, etc. Every ingredient is rich in some type of nutrient that helps in relieving pain and other problems. For example, Eucalyptus, and some other ingredients have anti-inflammatory properties that reduce discomfort while some herbs are multipurpose and help in treating pain along with common health problems.
